Welcome to Nina Knows Food!

I’m Nina - a Brooklynite with a passion for health & wellness, cooking and food blogging & photography. I love taking traditional dishes and bringing them to the healthier side of the spectrum. As someone who has experienced digestive issues, I’ve had to re-learn a lot of what I thought I knew about healthy food, at least what was healthy for me. I’ve been dairy-free since college, and dabble with gluten- and grain-free cooking.

While my recipes can be categorized as these things - “dairy-free,” “gluten-free,” etc. - I don’t care to be confined to these labels. What I really care about is making food that’s nourishing and delicious. I share my recipes for those who want to follow the instructions from A to Z, or who want to be inspired to try something new and maybe come up with a version that better suits their health needs & goals.

I combined my love for cooking, passion for nutrition, and my desire to share simple and delicious recipes with as many people as possible in my first self-published cookbook, How to Adult: The Newlywed Cookbook ©

This cookbook came to life originally as a wedding gift for close friends, but is now available for any partners starting their life together with easy recipes they can whip up in the kitchen together. But it’s not just for newlyweds - it’s for anyone and everyone looking to “adult” a bit better. We love to joke - and complain - about everything adulting requires of us, such as paying bills, doing laundry, and cooking for ourselves! This cookbook is perfect for those who want to make adult life a little less difficult and a lot more delicious.

You can buy the cookbook here! $10 of each book purchased through December 31, 2020 will be donated to Full Heart Full Bellies, an organization in the Bronx (NYC) providing meals to food insecure children and those impacted by COVID-19.

I’m so happy you’re here, and I hope you’ll get inspired to cook something new.
